On Perfection (and Rambling)

On Perfection (and Rambling)
Thanks, Dall-E?

Hello and welcome to the very first post of Sasquatch Paw! This is my personal website, which I created in haphazard fashion, because I was sick of the mess that the constant drip of ideas out of my ears, eyes and nose was creating.

I can't see any good use for any of this stuff, which is why I think the internet is the perfect place to put it. My plan is to upload new creations (prose, poetry, cartoons, sketches, rants, AI-generated blog posts, etc.) weekly from the perspective of a veterinarian-illustrator who loves the ocean, sasquatch, 80's hair metal, dinosaurs, adventure, funny stuff, tacos, history, and all sorts of other things.

Why the name Sasquatch Paw? Well, it relates to the title of this post. I have no idea why that name popped into my head as I spent my third hour trying to sleep the other night. But I hopped on GoDaddy right away and purchased the domain name for $3. In retrospect, this seems like a dumb move, but that's just the point. I've been kicking around the idea of launching a site for years, but haven't committed yet because I've been too worried it wouldn't be good enough.

Now I know the solution: don't make it good! Or rather, don't worry about it being perfect, because these are just ideas after all. I've been burning with creative ideas my entire adult life. They just seem to zap me out of the ether like bolts from a Tesla Coil. This shows no sign of abating, and my in fact be speeding up. If you're a therapist reading this, you may be thinking "mid-life crisis?", and that's fair. But hey, this seems more productive than new fly fishing gear or secret trips to Sassy's. There will be more time to polish later, right now consider these nitrogen-rich waste products.

Before wrapping up, I asked ChatGPT if this post was rambling, and it gave an unambiguous "yes". Which is impressive for a robot, but also kinda made me happy. Here's to being human, and the inchoate creativity that it entails (<sips water> I'm at work, dude!).

A veterinarian with unquenchable creative impulses. Unquenchable? Hmmm... creative "tendencies"? Well, it depends on how well I slept last night. Also a writer, illustrator and whatever-elser.
